FOOTBALL ADDS TWO MORE PLAYERS TO SIGNING CLASS

2/8/2007

The Sacramento State football team added two more members to its 2007 recruiting class with the signings of quarterback Duncan White and defensive lineman John Green on Thursday. The pair will each enroll at the University in the fall.

White comes to the Hornets from Lake Oswego HS in Lake Oswego, Ore. This past season, he guided the Lakers to the Oregon 6A semifinals and a 10-3 overall record. During the year, he threw for over 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns while completing 57 percent of his passes. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder, was also a member of the school’s baseball and basketball teams.

“We are really excited to have Duncan,” Sacramento State head coach Marshall Sperbeck said. “He has had only one year as a starting quarterback and will continue to develop. He has good size and can throw the ball.”

Green is another Sacramento-area product. A 2004 graduate of Luther Burbank HS, he walked on at Fresno State and spent his first season as a redshirt. In 2005, he played in one game for the Bulldogs as a defensive end and finished with one assisted tackle. Green transferred to Fresno City College prior to the 2006 season and played one year for the Rams. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

"John Green is another local kid who wanted to come back and play at home," Sperbeck said. "He will be able to come in and play right away."

White and Green join 10 other commitments that signed National Letters of Intent on Feb. 7.
