FOOTBALL FEATURED FIVE TIMES ON NATIONAL GAME OF THE WEEK BALLOT

5/5/2004

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Fans of the Sacramento State football team can help place the Hornets on national television during the 2004 season via a poll being conducted by I-AA.org. The website is allowing fans to cast one vote per e-mail address to help determine the I-AA Game of the Week shown on College Sports Television (CSTV).

While the results of the poll are not official, I-AA.org claims that 12 of the 13 recommendations from last season were shown on CSTV. Five Hornet games are available for selection beginning with the 51st-Annual Causeway Classic against UC Davis on Sept. 25.

Four of Sacramento State’s seven Big Sky Conference games are also available for selection. The choices start with the Oct. 2 matchup at Northern Arizona. The Oct. 23 game at Idaho State, the home contest against Montana State on Nov. 6 and the road game at Montana on Nov. 13 complete the schedule.

The voting period is open until May 31 and the results will be published on I-AA.org shortly thereafter.

Last season, Sacramento State played six games on television. The team’s opening game at Oregon State was televised on Fox Sports Net while games against UC Davis, Portland State and Eastern Washington were shown by The Football Network. The matchups against Montana State and Montana were local broadcasts in the state of Montana.
