SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State football team will begin official preparations for the 2012 season when it takes to field on Sunday, Aug. 5, for its first official practice at 5:30 p.m. Due to NCAA regulations, the team will not wear pads during the first two practices.
The first practice in full pads will come on Thur., Aug. 9 as the second of two practice sessions that day. Sacramento State will have a pair of scrimmages during the training camp. The first will come at 10 a.m. on Sat., Aug. 18. The second will take place on Wed., Aug. 22, at 9 a.m. All practice times are subject to change.
The Hornets' first game in 2012 will come on Thur., Aug. 30 when it travels to New Mexico State. The team will also play at Colorado on Sept. 8 before hosting Northern Colorado on Sat., Sept. 15, in the home opener.
