STEVE MOOSHAGIAN WILL NOT RETURN AS HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

11/27/2006

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State Athletics Department announced today the contract for head football coach Steve Mooshagian will not be renewed.

Mooshagian recently completed his fourth year at the helm of the Hornet program and produced an 11-33 overall record, including a 4-7 mark this past season.

“I am thankful for all that Steve has done for the University,” Sacramento State Director of Athletics Terry Wanless said. “After lengthy conversations between Steve and I, it was mutually agreed that it was in the best interest of the program to make a change.”

A national search for the new head coach will begin immediately.
