Freshman Sophie Lohscheidt improved to 6-8 on the season with a win at No. 5 singles.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - What was supposed to be a UC Davis home match was moved to Sacramento State's Spare Time Indoor Tennis Club due to inclement weather in the area and the Hornets used their home court advantage to sweep the rival Aggies, 6-0, on Saturday morning.

The No. 46 ranked Hornets improve to 9-7 on the season while the No. 60 ranked Aggies fall to 11-3.

Sacramento State won four singles matches in straight sets, including Maria Meliuk's decisive 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ellie Edles at No. 3.

The Hornets also pulled out three set wins at No. 2 and 6 singles. Both times the Aggies took the first set before the Hornets rallied for wins.

Sacramento State is not done today, as they women's tennis team will battle Big Sky Conference foe Montana at 3 p.m., also at Spare Time Indoor Tennis Club.
