Fred KelleyTitle: Offensive Assistant Experience: 2nd Year Alma Mater: Sacramento State, '06 Bio: Former Sacramento State player Fred Kelley is in his second year as a member of the coaching staff. Kelley will serve as the team's offensive assistant. In that role, Kelley works with the offensive line and oversees the Hornets' video department.
Before returning to Sacramento State, Kelley spent two years as the head junior varsity football coach at Florin High School in Sacramento. He has also worked as a strength and conditioning coach at San Jose State.
Kelley played linebacker for the Hornets during the 2005 season and ended the year with 17 total tackles, including one for loss. Prior to coming to Sacramento State, he spent one year at Idaho and two at Los Medaños JC. At LMC, he played fullback and linebacker. As a sophomore in 2001, he was named the school’s Male Athlete of the Year and also earned all-conference honors at linebacker.
A Northern California native, Kelley graduated from Brentwood HS in 2000. While there, he was an all-conference selection at running back.
He graduated from Sacramento State in December 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology.
