Klayton AdamsTitle: Tight Ends/Off. Line Experience: 1st Year Email:kadams@saclink.csus.edu Bio: One of the neweset members of the Sacramento State coaching staff, local product Klayton Adams returns to Sacramento and will coach tight ends and offensive tackles.
Adams comes to the Hornets after coaching stints at Boise State and Western Washington. A native of Sacramento, he prepped at Sheldon High School where he was named second team all-metro as a senior and was twice selected all-Delta League. Adams went on to play two seasons at American River College and was a first team all-Mid Empire Conference and second team all-Northern California selection as a sophomore.
Adams continued his career at Boise State as a walk-on offensive lineman during his junior season. He made his first career start in the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl against Texas Christian. The following year, he anchored the Broncos’ offensive line and was named second team all-Western Athletic Conference at center.
Following his playing career, Adams joined the Boise State coaching staff where he primarily worked with the offensive line. In 2006, BSU posted a 13-0 overall record, won the WAC title, and upset seventh-ranked Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl. For the past two years, Adams was the offensive line coach at Western Washington. He added the responsibility as the team’s Run Game Coordinator in 2008.
Adams graduated from Boise State in 2004 with a degree in mass communications/journalism. He and his wife, Stefani, reside in Sacramento.
