Jason Pollak enters his second season with the Sacramento State coaching staff and his first as the team's primary receivers coach.
During his first season with the Hornets (2013), Pollak coached three receivers who earned all-Big Sky honors. Junior DeAndre Carter was a first team selection after catching 64 passes for a team-leading 934 yards and 14 touchdowns. His touchdown total tied the school single-season record which dated back to 1969. Carter also set the school single-game record with five TD catches against Southern Oregon.
Senior Morris Norrise was named third team after leading the team with 81 grabs for 870 yards and four touchdowns. Sophomore Shane Harrison was an honorable mention choice after hauling in 49 passes for 594 yards and a TD.
Pollak's first coaching job came at San Jose State in 2010 where he was a student assistant working the linebackers. He remained on staff as a graduate assistant in 2011 and 2012 coaching the team's receivers. During his final year, SJSU went 11-2 and won the Military Bowl.
Pollak has also had coaching stints at Del Mar High School and Oak Grove High School.
He earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from San Jose State in 2010. He and his wife, Julie, were married in 2012.
