    Sacramento State punter Owen Hoolihan was named the STATS FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week as well as the Big Sky Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the team’s 28-25 win at Northern Colorado. The honor is the first for Hoolihan in his Hornet career.

    The Sacramento State football team started the 2018 season with a 55-7 convincing win over Saint Francis on Saturday at Hornet Stadium. The Hornets compiled 630 yards of total offense and had five different players score touchdowns in the game en route to the victory.

    Sacramento State senior kicker Devon Medeiros has been selected as one of 34 place-kickers across the nation to be named to the 2018 Fred Mitchell Award watch list. The award honors the best collegiate kicker that does not compete at the NCAA FBS level.

Lindsey was the FCS leader and set the school record with 30.24 ypc while Ratliff posted the second best mark in program history at 26.52 ypc.
