GREEN-GOLD GAME CULMINATES SPRING BALL FOR FOOTBALL

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Spring football will come to a close for Sacramento State on Friday, April 13, when the team hosts its annual Green-Gold spring game. The Hornets will take the field at 6 p.m. with the game getting underway at 6:20.

This year's spring game will divide the offensive and defensive players into two teams. The game will feature four 10-minute quarters with traditional scoring. Local officials will also be on hand to help create a game-like atmosphere. One significant difference from a regular season game is that head coach Jody Sears will be mic'ed up and provide commentary throughout the action.

The spring game is the culmination of a busy day for Hornet football. The team will host the Bob Mattos Memorial Golf Classic on Friday morning at Rancho Murrieta Country Club. Fans are also encouraged to tailgate prior to the game on Friday night. Following the game, fans can come down to the field and receive free posters and autographs from Hornet players.

The Green Army is hosting a pregame party for Sacramento State students featuring DJ Louie Giovanni. The event begins at 4:30 inside of Hornet Stadium and will continue until game time. During the course of the game, students will also have the opportunity to win a parking pass for the fall semester. One student will be selected at random from those who swipe their OneCard at the Green Army table. Another group of students will be selected to participate in a Punt, Pass and Kick competition at halftime of the spring game. The winner of that game will earn the second parking pass for next semester.
