FOOTBALL GAMES TO FEATURE A BEER GARDEN IN 2017
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Fans attending Hornet football games will have a new option as Sacramento State announced that a beer garden will be in place at Hornet Stadium. The area, which will be set up south of Gate 4 (near the Broad Athletic Center), will feature both domestic and craft brews and will also have a view of action on the field.

The first home game with the beer garden will be on Saturday, Sept. 9, against Incarnate Word. Fans must have legal ID and will be limited to two beverages per order. Sales will begin when the gates open and will conclude at the end of halftime.

"We strive to continue to enhance the experience for our fans at Hornet football games and this is the next step." Sacramento State Director of Athletics Mark Orr said. "We encourage everyone to have fun and remain responsible while supporting the Hornets throughout the year."

The return of the beer garden was made possible due to CSU Executive Order 1109. The University will work with University Enterprises, Inc., to provide vendors for fans over the age of 21. Sacramento State is committed to creating a safe and healthy environment during games and will be working closely with game security and the University Police Department to ensure a positive experience for all who attend football games.

A portion of revenue from the sale of alcoholic beverages will be used to provide appropriate security and may be used to support alcohol education and sexual assault education programming through Student Affairs. The complete University policy can be viewed here.
