T.J. Knowles to Play in NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State tight end T.J. Knowles has accepted an invitational to play in the NFL Payers Association Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 19. The game will be televised by ESPN2 and be held at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Some of the top seniors in the country will be divided onto the American and National teams which will be coached by former NFL head coaches Herm Edwards and Dick Vermeil. Former NFL All-Pros Terrell Davis, Andre Reed and Lorenzo Neal will also serve as Player Ambassadors to help prepare the players for life in the NFL.

Knowles caught 38 passes for 381 yards and five touchdowns as a senior for the Hornets in 2012. Those numbers placed him third on the team in both receptions and yards while his touchdowns trailed only Morris Norrise (7). Following the season, Knowles was earned honorable mention all-Big Sky honors.

Other players who have committed to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl include Southern Utah quarterback Brad Sorensen, Fresno State running back Robbie Rouse, Texas wide receiver Marquise Goodwin and running back D.J. Monroe as well as players from Utah, Washington State, Notre Dame, BYU, UCLA, Penn State, Tennessee, Miami, Virginia Tech and Rice.
