Title: | Volunteer Assistant Coach |
Year: | 2nd |
Previous College: | Sacramento State, '12 |
Trevor Paine is in his second
season on the coaching staff at Sacramento State serving as a
volunteer assistant coach.
The former Hornet played his final season in green and gold in
2012, when he was a second team all-Western Athletic Conference and
academic all-WAC selection. He hit .308 in 182 at-bats overall on
the season with 23 runs, 13 doubles, three home runs and 32
RBIs.
Due to injury, Paine made a successful move from pitcher to hitter
in 2010, prior to his junior season, after missing most of his 2009
season with an elbow injury. The transition was a smooth one, as
Paine hit a team-best .381 on the season with a team-high 10 home
runs, 107 total bases and 44 RBIs. He also posted 30 runs and
struck out just 13 times while drawing 20 walks in 176 at-bats.
Paine tallied three four-RBI games in 2010, all against WAC
opponents.
Paine is a 2007 graduate of Jesuit HS and was MVP of the Delta
River League his senior season. He went 3-2 with a 1.06 ERA that
year while hitting .430 with three home runs and 18 RBIs.
