Clay Cederquist joined the Sacramento State Baseball staff after graduating from the university in the spring of 2014. Cederquist served as the team's Director of Operations for the 2015 season.

Cederquist played two seasons for the Hornets after starting his collegiate career at Fresno City College. He appeared in 51 games while making 45 starts as a junior in 2012 and hit .304 with four doubles, two home runs, 18 runs and 26 RBIs in 184 at-bats.

After a redshirt year he returned in 2014 as the Hornets designated hitter and hit .265 with two home runs and 15 RBIs in 42 games played. Cederquist also excelled in the classroom and was named WAC All-Academic after his senior season before graduating with a degree in organizational communication. 

A native of Fowler, Calif., Cederquist was drafted in the 46th round of the 2009 MLB draft by the Seattle Mariners after graduating from Fowler HS following a stellar prep career.
