PARKER BRAHMS NAMED WAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

DENVER - The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) has named Sacramento State freshman Parker Brahms as the conference Pitcher of the Week announced on Monday.

Brahms threw six shutout innings in a 9-0 win at Seattle U on Saturday. The freshman from Calabasas allowed just three singles and two walks and tallied six strikeouts against the Redhawks and delivered his second shutout of the season.

The Hornets have won each of Brahms' last four starts including wins over WAC leaders New Mexico State and Grand Canyon. In his last four starts Brahms is 3-0 with a 1.01 ERA, .168 opposing batting average, and a 0.89 WHIP. He has 20 strikeouts in the stretch and has 13 strikeouts to just three walks in his last two games.

Brahms has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of his five WAC starts. He has the fifth best ERA and opposing batting average and is tied for the third most strikeouts among all league pitchers in WAC play.
