SUNDAY BASEBALL GAME AT TEXAS TECH CANCELLED AS WELL

Video: Sacramento baseball team makes best of Lubbock's record snow

LUBBOCK, Texas – Sunday's baseball game between Sacramento State and #5 Texas Tech has been cancelled. The teams were able to play just one game of what was supposed to be a four-game series.

The series opener was moved up to Wednesday night, a game the Red Raiders rallied to win 4-3. Several reschedules of the ensuing games proved ineffective as snow fell throughout Thursday and Friday and the temperature stayed below freezing on Saturday and Sunday to make for unplayable conditions.

Sunday's game was going to be closed to the public due to safety conditions in the snow-covered stands. The team waited for three full days hoping to play more baseball but conditions made it unable to do so.

The Hornets will look to add games to make up for the missed dates. One game has been added to the Cal Poly series, which will now begin Thursday night, March 12, at 6 p.m. and continue Friday through Sunday in San Luis Obispo.

Local TV station KCBD did a feature on Sacramento State's stay in Lubbock. See it here.
