3/10/2010
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Nearly four hours of baseball and a clear March afternoon proved not be enough on Wednesday as the baseball game between Sacramento State and Saint Mary's was halted by darkness following the 12th inning with the score tied, 4-4. The two teams are set to resume play on March 23 when the Hornets travel to Moraga, Calif., for an already scheduled nonconference game.
The Gaels appeared to be in control of the contest at they took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning. However, Sacramento State plated two runs in that frame and added the tying run in the ninth.
Each team scored once in the 10th before being blanked in next two innings.
Due to the fact that the game is not official, all statistics will not be credited until the the game is over.
Sacramento State returns to action on Friday when it welcomes 16th-ranked UC Irvine to Hornet Field.
