AS A FRESHMAN (2013) Recorded a save in his first collegiate appearance at Texas on Feb. 16...entered the game with one on, one out and a 5-3 score in the eighth and proceeded to retire the next two batters in the inning before inducing a double play grounder to finish the game in the ninth.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played baseball for four years under head coach James Wheeler at Rio Americano HS...awarded Capital Athletic League MVP honors following his junior season and named all-CAL as a sophomore...shined in his junior campaign when he went 7-0 with four complete games in 11 starts and tallied 89 strikeouts against 14 walks and just seven total extra base hits in 60.1 innings...recorded 16 strikeouts in a complete game victory over Colfax HS in the 2011 section playoffs...totaled 10+ strikeouts in five of his 11 starts and never allowed more than three earned runs in a game as a junior...went 2-3 his senior season in eight starts and 45 innings with a 2.18 ERA, 59 strikeouts and 29 walks...also was the goalie on the water polo team for three seasons, leading Rio Americano to section titles as both a junior and senior...set the single-season school record with 206 saves in water polo.
