AS A SOPHOMORE (2012)

Posted a 3-1 record and 3.06 ERA in 35.1 innings over six appearances in conference play, helping him earn second team all-WAC honors...emerged as the Hornets' No. 1 starter in league play...recorded 32 strikeouts and just 10 walks in WAC games...named to the all-WAC Tournament team after tossing 12.2 innings with eight strikeouts over two starts...tallied a 4-1 record overall with a 4.40 ERA in 57.1 innings pitched...accumulated 46 strikeouts and 21 walks...made 15 total appearances in his second season with eight starts, the fourth most on the team...opposing batters hit .261 against him, the best among starting pitchers on the roster...over a four-game stretch in conference play (vs. Nevada, at San Jose State, at Fresno State, vs. Hawai'i) allowed just five runs in 29 innings for a 1.55 ERA...recorded 26 strikeouts versus seven walks in that four-game stretch, including an eight strikeout, no walk performance in a 2-0 win over Nevada.

HIGH SCHOOL
Selected in the 18th round of the 2010 MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox...played four years of varsity baseball for head coach Jim Morley at Shasta HS of the Eastern Athletic League...named all-league as a pitcher in 2008 and 2009 before earning league MVP honors as a senior in 2010...broke the EAL record with 113 strikeouts in his senior season while recording a 0.51 ERA and issuing just 13 walks.
