AS A SENIOR (2011)
Went from walk-on to the Hornets' top starter during the course of his senior season...recorded a 4.30 ERA and a 4-5 mark in 14 appearances and 13 starts, the most on the team...allowed 45 runs (39 earned) on 77 hits in a team-high 81.2 innings pitched with 36 strikeouts and 21 walks...recorded a .247 opponent batting average in 312 at-bats...did not allow more than three runs in his first four starts of the season but went just 1-2 in that stretch...best start of the season came against Air Force on April 15 when he posted a complete game, allowing just one run on seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk.

PRIOR TO SACRAMENTO STATE

Played at Hawaii-Hilo in 2007 before enrolling at Modesto CC in 2008...threw a two-hit complete game shutout in 2009 with Modesto against Diablo Valley CC...recorded two saves as a freshman at Hawaii-Hilo.

HIGH SCHOOL
Played for head coach Jim Rice and the Wolfpack at Merrill F. West HS (Tracy, Calif.)...graduated in 2006...named all-conference, all-area and team captain in 2005 and 2006...threw a perfect game as a high school sophomore...named Merrill F. West High School Athlete of the Year in 2006...also competed in football and wrestling...recorded 85 tackles, five sacks and three forced fumbles on the gridiron his senior season.

Born on Dec. 26, 1987 in Tracy, Calif...parents are Russ and Michelle Sterritt...major is organizational communications...goal is to become a counselor at a high school...Karl and his girlfriend Grace are expecting their first child in May.
