AS A JUNIOR (2010)
Made 52 starts while appearing in 53 games, playing primarily at third base and shortstop...hit .261 in 203 plate appearances...scored 30 runs, tallied 53 hits and posted 47 RBIs...struck out 43 times...stole seven bases and recorded four sacrifice hits...hit a home run in three straight games against Arizona, Saint Mary's and Cal State Northridge (March 21-26)...had season-high five RBIs in two games, against both Cal State Northridge and San Francisco State.

PRIOR TO SACRAMENTO STATE

Spent two seasons at Edmonds JC in Lynnwood, Wash. under coach Brad Ditter...hit .340 as a sophomore with one home run and 26 RBI...earned second team all-Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges honors as a freshman in 2008 after posting a .351 average...led team to NWAACC title and 38-9 record during his first season with the Tritons.

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2007 graduate of Lake Washington HS in Kirkland, Wash...was a three year letterwinner for the Kangaroos and coach Derek Bingham...was second team all-KingCo as a senior after hitting .390 with four home runs and 25 RBI...also earned all-league honors in football and basketball.

PERSONAL

Born July 4, 1988...parents are Dan and Linda Young...was named after baseball hall of famer Kirby Puckett by his parents...majoring in communication studies.
