PRIOR TO SACRAMENTO STATE
Played one year of baseball at Merced JC for coach Chris Predretti...spent one season as a quarterback at Texas Tech under coach Mike Leach prior to joining the Blue Devils...earned first team all-Central Valley Conference honors as a sophomore after posting a 9-3 record with a 4.88 ERA...made 16 appearances, including 13 starts...struck out 60 batters while walking just 20 in 79.1 innings pitched...threw one complete game and added one save on the season.

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2007 graduate of Merced HS in Merced, Calif...four year letterwinner in baseball, basketball and football...won 19 consecutive decisions spanning from his sophomore to senior seasons...was named Central California Conference MVP as a junior, and was a first team selection as a sophomore and a senior...also played first base and led the team in home runs and RBI...earned second team all-state honors in football as a senior after throwing for 2,529 yards and 32 touchdowns...set a section championship game record throwing for 458 yards and 4 TD's...named to Modesto Bee's all-decade team for football.
