AS A JUNIOR (2006)
Battled a knee injury most of the year, but made 14 appearances and four starts...finished the year with a 1-2 record and a 5.52 ERA...in his first start of the season, pitched 8.0 innings and struck out nine in a 2-1 victory over Louisiana Tech on April 23 to clinch the series...also pitched 7.0 innings in a 10-2 loss to Fresno State at the WAC Tournament, pitching 7.0 innings and allowing four runs on six hits.
PRIOR TO SACRAMENTO STATE
Was a pitcher for two seasons (2003 and 2004) at Cañada College in Redwood City, Calif...in 2003 as a freshman, was named second team all-Coast Conference...in 2004 as a sophomore, pitched a complete game giving up one earned run with seven strikeouts...in 2003, he held San Francisco City College scoreless with nine strikeouts and six hits.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2002 graduate of De Anza HS in Richmond, Calif...was a first baseman and pitcher for four seasons under Ed Hammer and Steve Peters...received all-ACCAL honors as a junior and senior.
PERSONAL
Born Jan. 26, 1984...parents are P. David and Jane Schlager...major is kinesiology...would like to teach P.E. and coach baseball after graduation.
