PRIOR TO SACRAMENTO STATE
Spent three years at Skyline CC, playing in 2004 and 2006 for head coach Dino Nomicos...as a freshman in 2004, made 17 appearances and 14 starts, pitching 94.0 innings with a 2.68 ERA, 9-2 record, one save and 77 strikeouts...received All-America honors as well as being named North Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year and MVP...led the Trojans to the Coast Conference championship with a 15-3 record...that year, threw three consecutive shutouts to start off league play...was the first freshman in program history to receive All-America honors and holds the program’s all-time record at 13-4...suffered a setback in 2005 and underwent Tommy John surgery...returned to the mound in 2006, going 4-2 with a 2.55 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 35.1 innings pitched.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2003 graduate of Junipero Serra HS in San Mateo, Calif...played three years for head coach Pete Jensen...on the mound for two seasons, combined for an 18-2 record...both years was named West Catholic League MVP and Pitcher of the Year...also earned all-county honors both seasons...as a junior went 10-0 in league play and threw a no-hitter.
