AS A JUNIOR (2006)
Returned to the mound, becoming the Hornets’ closer and leading the team with five saves...one of two pitchers with a winning record, 3-2...also finished third on the staff with a 3.26 ERA...pitched 30.1 innings in 22 appearances, tying him for the staff lead...recorded 18 strikeouts...earned his first save in a 6-4 victory over Saint Mary’s on Feb. 17, recording the final out with the bases loaded in the ninth...picked up his first win, pitching 2.0 innings and striking out three in a 7-5 win over North Dakota State on Feb. 23...pitched 3.0 scoreless innings in a 7-5 win over Nevada on April 1, striking out three...pitched the last three innings in a 12-inning game against New Mexico State on April 9, earning his second win and helping the team to a three-game sweep of the Aggies....in another series victory, helped the Hornets to an 11-10 victory over Louisiana Tech in 10 innings, pitching the final two and held the Bulldogs to one unearned run on two hits...appeared the next day to earn his fifth save of the year in the rubber game, pitching the final inning in a 2-1 win.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2005)
Appeared in 29 games, starting 13 at third base and one at second base...finished the season hitting .230 with eight RBIs, three doubles and one home run...hit mostly in the seventh and eighth spots of the lineup...went 3-for-5 with two RBIs in a 14-5 win over Utah Valley State on April 16...hit his second career home run against Santa Clara on May 3, going 2-for-4 on the day.
AS A FRESHMAN (2004)
Appeared in 12 games with two starts, finishing with a 1-4 record...earned his first win in an 8-6 game at Santa Clara on Mar. 10...in that game, pitched 4.0 innings, giving up two hits and zero runs...did not allow a run in six appearances...pitched a total of 22.1 innings...finished eight games and had a team-high four saves.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2003 graduate of Placer HS in Auburn, Calif...competed in four years of baseball and two years of hoops...pitched and played shortstop for the Hillmen...led the squad to a 17-1 overall record and a Sierra Foothill League title in 2003...a two-time first team all-SFL and league MVP as a junior and senior...also named all-city and was selected to the Optimist game as a senior...batted .425 with an ERA of 1.92 as a junior...followed that effort by batting .420 with a 2.00 ERA as a senior...in basketball, he was named the Hillmen’s Defensive Player of the Year as a freshman and sophomore.
