AS A JUNIOR (2007)
Started seven games in his first season in the Green and Gold...recorded 21 appearances in the outfield...made the most of first career start at Pacific on Feb. 6, scoring the first three times he reached base in the game, and also hitting a two-run double....also collected RBI singles against Saint Mary’s on Feb. 24 and at UC Davis on Mar. 10.

PRIOR TO SACRAMENTO STATE
Played two seasons (2005 & 2006) at Modesto JC for head coach Bo Aiello...a second team all-Central Valley Conference selection in 2006, Boyd batted .308 with a team-leading 53 RBI, adding 52 hits, nine doubles, one triple, and 23 walks...helped lead the Pirates to a 30-11 overall record and first-place 21-7 league record in the CVC...advanced to the second round of the playoffs...in one of his best performances of 2005, finished 4-for-4 with a double, triple, and two RBIs against West Hills CC.

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2003 graduate of Los Banos HS...played four years of baseball for Bob Montano...also played football for two seasons.

PERSONAL
Born Feb. 10, 1985...parents are David and Nickola Boyd...major is communication studies...would like to become a teacher and coach in the future.
