Named preseason all-Western Athletic Conference.
AS A FRESHMAN (2007)
Posted a stellar freshman campaign a season ago as the Hornets’ everyday centerfielder...batted .310 with six home runs and 27 RBI...came into his own during conference play, where he was second on the team in batting average, hitting .352 against WAC pitching, while connecting on five of his home runs and 19 of his RBI during the Hornets’ 24 games inside of conference...had a great two-day stretch on April 6-7 against Hawai’i...went 4-for-4 at the plate with a triple and three runs scored on the 6th...followed it up the next day with a 3-for-4 performance with two doubles and four RBI.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2006 graduate of El Camino HS in Sacramento...a two-sport star for the Eagles...played four years of both baseball and football...on the diamond under head coach Jim Bennett, he was named to the all-metro first team after batting .535 with eight doubles, three triples, three home runs, 15 stolen bases and 28 runs...led the Capital Athletic League in average, runs scored, slugging percentage, on-base percentage and stolen bases...a three-time all-CAL first team selection and three-time team MVP selection...lists his greatest performance as a 3-for-4 effort against Del Campo HS, which included one double, one home run, three RBI and two runs scored...on the football field, played quarterback and defensive back for the Eagles, earning all-metro honorable mention accolades his senior and junior seasons as well as first-team all-CAL honors...also in 2005, was named CAL MVP and team MVP...as a junior, was El Camino’s starting quarterback, leading the team to an 8-2 record and a CAL championship...passed for 2,273 yards and 25 touchdowns...lists his greatest performance against Rio Americano HS in the league championship game in 2004...in that game, completed all 10 of his pass attempts for 300 yards and five touchdowns.
