AS A SOPHOMORE (2007)
Started 36 games at shortstop in his first season in the Green and Gold...appeared in 40 games...hit .258 with 13 RBI and 16 runs scored...led the team in sacrifices with 10, which was the second highest single-season total in school history...had two sacrifices against New Mexico State on March 17...had his best game as a Hornet in the team’s 6-0 victory at Stanford on March 24...went 4-for-4 with a sacrifice bunt in five plate appearances...doubled in the third inning and followed it up with three straight singles in his final three at-bats, including an RBI single in the seventh...had RBI singles in back-to-back innings in the Hornets’ 13-4 triumph over South Dakota State on Feb. 18...committed just five errors during the season, boasting a fielding percentage of .967.

PRIOR TO SACRAMENTO STATE
Played at BYU in 2006...he hit .322 in 48 games for the Cougars with 49 hits, 23 RBI, 17 runs, nine doubles and a .960 fielding percentage at shortstop and third base...finished as the hardest player to strike out in the Mountain West Conference, batting .348 with 24 hits, 13 RBIs, six doubles, a .435 slugging percentage and a .400 on-base percentage against league competition.

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2003 graduate of La Quinta HS in Westminster, Calif...played four years of shortstop for head coach Dave Demarest...earned all-Garden Grove league honors four consecutive seasons...batting .482 as a senior, led the Aztecs to the CIF Championship with a 30-2 record...as a junior had a 1.000 fielding percentage.

PERSONAL
Born Sept. 11, 1984...parents are Ed Crosby and Kathy Staley...major is communication studies...minor is Spanish...older brother Bobby is the starting shortstop for the Oakland A’s...would like to play professional baseball in the future and eventually become a major league general manager...married his wife Kelsey in the summer of 2006.
