CHECK OUT HORNET BASEBALL SUMMER CAMPS

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State baseball program and head coach Reggie Christiansen will host three types of instructional summer camps this year at the Hornets' John Smith Field. Ages 17-21 can participate in two prospect camps while ages 7-12 and 5-6 can improve their understanding of the game in three youth summer camps.

PROSPECT CAMP - JUNE 13 and AUGUST 6
The camp is designed to provide recruitable high school and junior college players - ages 17-21 - the opportunity to be instructed by and play in front of the Hornets' coaching staff.

The cost $125 and the camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Attendees should bring a glove, bat, hat and spikes plus running shoes or turf shoes. Catchers must bring their own gear but batting helmets will be provided. Every camper in attendance will be given a shirt to be worn during camp. However, all campers must bring their own baseball pants.

A maximum of 60 student-athletes will have to opportunity expand their baseball skills and benefit from a unique, competitive and challenging atmosphere in front of many college coaches.

INSTRUCTIONAL CAMPS - JUNE 20-24, JULY 11-15 and JULY 18-22
Camp will start off in the morning with several fundamental drill stations to improve skill and understanding of the game. In the afternoon all campers will get the opportunity to apply the skills learned in the morning sessions and participate in instructional scrimmage games on John Smith Field at Sacramento State.

Camp is designed for players aged 7-12 and will run from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. each day. There will be an 8-to-1 camper-to-coach ratio. Players will be grouped by age, ability and prior experience. When not participating in a scrimmage game, campers will be hitting in Sacramento State’s batting cages.

Players receive around 30 hours of elite instruction, the opportunity to meet and learn from current Sacramento State coaches and players, a chance to train on a Division I college baseball field and a camp T-shirt.

JUNIOR CAMPS - JUNE 20-24, JULY 11-15 and JULY 18-22
Junior Baseball Camps allows players the chance to improve their skills while having fun participating in several drill stations. Players will participate in these fundamental drills to improve their ability and understanding of the game.

Camp is designed for players aged 5-6 and will run from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. each day. There will be an 8-to-1 camper-to-coach ratio.

Players receive around 15 hours of elite instruction, the opportunity to meet and learn from current Sacramento State coaches and players, a chance to train on a Division I college baseball field and a camp T-shirt.
