CHUNG NAMED SECOND TEAM ALL-WAC

Derrick Chung was named second team all-WAC after starting each of the Hornets' 58 games.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State's Derrick Chung was named second team all-Western Athletic Conference, the league announced on Tuesday.

Chung, a junior from Cypress, Calif., started all 58 games for the Hornets this season. The catcher hit .256 with a team-high 38 runs and 18 doubles. He also drew a team-best 38 walks and was hit by a team-high 14 pitches to help him post a .406 on-base percentage.

Chung was one of the most versatile players for the Hornets this year, playing both middle infeidler and catcher.

Fresno State's Dusty Robinson won Player of the Year honors while the Bulldogs' Greg Gonzalez earned Pitcher of the Year. Fresno State's Aaron Judge took home freshman of the year honors.

Hawai'i Mike Trapasso was named Coach of the Year.

Fresno State and Hawai'i split the regular season WAC title this season.
