Bio: Steve Holm is in his first season as an assistant coach at Sacramento State. Holm will serve as the team’s hitting coach while assisting with pitchers, catchers and baserunning.

Holm, a Sacramento native and McClatchy HS graduate, appeared in 59 games over three seasons with the San Francisco Giants (2008-09) and Minnesota Twins (2011). Holm played in 646 minor league games during his 12-year career, with 51 home runs, 103 doubles, 241 runs and 229 RBIs. He played collegiately at Oral Roberts before being drafted in the 17th round by the Giants in 2001. He was a second team All-American as a junior in 2000, when he finished seventh in the NCAA with a .437 batting average, which is still a school record. His .371 career batting average is the third best mark in ORU history.

Holm was a shortstop in high school and college before being moved to catcher in the minors. He is engaged to be married to his fiancé, Lindsey, on June 22.
