Tony Brunicardi

Bio: Tony Brunicardi begins his third season on the Sacramento State coaching staff and first as Director of Baseball Operations. As the Director of Baseball Operations, Brunicardi will help with the day-to-day operations of the baseball office as well as coordinatoring various team activities.

Brunicardi served as the team's student assistant the previous two seasons, working with pitchers and helping run the bullpen with pitching coach Jim Barr. He has also served as the head coach of the Burlingame/Millbrae Joe DiMaggio team during the summers of 2006 and 2007, leading the team to a 45-10 record in two seasons. He also served this past summer as an assistant coach for the El Dorado Hills Vipers three summer league teams.

Prior to becoming a coach, Brunicardi had a standout career as a pitcher, coming to Sacramento State as a closer from Skyline CC before suffering a career-ending arm injury during his first fall with the team in 2006. While at Skyline, Brunicardi posted a 4-2 record over two seasons, recording four saves while posting an ERA of 4.54.

A 2003 graduate of Burlingame High School, Bruncardi was a three-sport athlete, playing baseball, basketball and football for the Panthers. In his four seasons on the mound for Burlingame, had a combined 1.96 ERA, and was named all-county as a senior and all-Peninsula Athletic League as a junior after helping lead the Cougars to the PAL championship with a 22-4 record.

A native of Burlingame, Calif., Brunicardi received his bachelors degree in communication studies from Sacramento State in the spring of 2008.
