BASEBALL BATTLES FOR 8-7 WIN OVER NORTHERN COLORADO IN WAC TOURNAMENT
Senior Chris Lewis and sophomore PJ Floyd hit 2-run home runs and the Hornets rallied from an early 6-0 deficit to defeat Northern Colorado, 8-7, in the first game of the 2016 WAC Tournament.

Alums Mitch Third, Loren Leath, Terry Ray and Ted Goodykoontz will be inducted into the Sacramento State Men’s Basketball Hall of Fame in October.

THREE HORNET BASEBALL PLAYERS NAMED ALL-WAC
Sacramento State had three players named to the All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) team at the conference awards banquet Tuesday night in Mesa, Ariz. Junior right handed pitcher Max Karnos was named to the first team while senior outfielder Chris Lewis and junior right handed pitcher Tyler Beardsley were selected to the second team.

BASEBALL OFF TO ARIZONA FOR 2016 WAC TOURNAMENT
Looking for its second WAC Tournament title in the last three years, Sacramento State (29-26, 16-11 WAC) opens tournament play at 3 p.m. Wednesday against Northern Colorado (16-32, 11-12 WAC). The six-team, double-elimination tournament runs through at least Saturday and to Sunday if necessary at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Ariz.

BASEBALL EDGED BY SEATTLE U IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE
Sacramento State pounded out 11 hits and chipped away after Seattle U took an early 6-0 lead but fell short in the regular season finale, 6-3, on Saturday at John Smith Field.

BASEBALL FALLS TO SEATTLE U 3-0; SATURDAY GAME MOVED TO 11 AM
In a game that started at 9:30 p.m. after a two and a half hour rain delay, Seattle U sophomore lefty Nick Meservey permitted just two hits and one walk with nine strikeouts over eight shutout innings to lead the Redhawks to a 3-0 win over Sacramento State.

Five Sacramento State student-athletes were selected to compete at the NCAA Div. I Outdoor Track & Field West Preliminary, it was announced today. The meet will take place on May 26-28 in Lawrence, Kan.

Starter Max Karnos and two relievers permitted just three singles and the Hornets used a four-run third inning to pick up a 6-3 win over Seattle U Thursday night at John Smith Field.

BASEBALL BACK UNDER THE LIGHTS HOSTING WAC-LEADING SEATTLE U
After the first night game in program history at John Smith Field on Tuesday, Sacramento State (28-24, 15-9 WAC) will play two more night games in a three-game series to close the regular season against WAC leader Seattle U (33-18, 19-5). The teams will play under the lights at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday before concluding the series at noon Saturday, which will also be Senior Day.

BEVERLY CONCLUDES NCAA REGIONAL WITH ROUND OF 74
Sacramento State's Aaron Beverly completed his season by shooting 74 in the final round of the NCAA Tucson Regional on Wednesday at The Gallery at Dove Mountain. Beverly finished his first NCAA postseason appearance tied for 33rd place after shooting 75-71-74-220.

BASEBALL EDGED BY PACIFIC IN FIRST NIGHT GAME AT JOHN SMITH FIELD
In front of a near capacity crowd on the first night game in the 63-year history of John Smith Field, junior Kody Reynolds and sophomore PJ Floyd hit home runs and the Hornets staged a late rally but were outlasted by Pacific, 9-6.

BEVERLY FINISHES WITH 1-UNDER PAR 71 IN SECOND ROUND OF NCAA REGIONAL
Aaron Beverly carded four birdies and three bogeys to finish the second round of the NCAA Tucson Regional at 1-under par 71 on Tuesday. That effort helped Beverly move up the leaderboard where he's tied for 23rd heading into the final round on Wednesday.

HORNET WOMEN CLAIM ANOTHER BIG SKY ALL-SPORTS TROPHY
Sacramento State captured the Big Sky Conference Women's All-Sports Trophy for the second consecutive year and the sixth time in the last nine years, it was announced today. Combined with the men's teams performances, the Hornets finished third overall among the league's 11 full-time members.

Sacramento State's Aaron Beverly recorded three birdies and finished with a 3-over par round of 75 during the first day of the NCAA Tucson Regional on Monday at The Gallery at Dove Mountain.
