BRIDGES HAT TRICK LEADS WOMEN’S SOCCER PAST IDAHO 4-2
In the final home game of her career Sacramento State senior forward Kristen Bridges scored a natural hat trick (three consecutive goals) to bring the Hornets back from down 2-0 en route to a 4-2 victory over Idaho on Friday.

Freshman Astha Madan capped her impressive first collegiate tournament by leading the Sacramento State women’s golf team with a round of 74 on Thursday at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational.

MEN’S SOCCER HOSTS RIVAL UC DAVIS AT BONNEY FIELD SATURDAY NIGHT
The men’s soccer rivalry between Sacramento State and UC Davis comes to an exciting new stage Saturday night at 7 p.m. as the Causeway foes face off under the lights at Bonney Field, home of USL Pro champion Sacramento Republic FC.

BASEBALL CLUBHOUSE RECEIVES NEW CHAMPIONSHIP LOOK
The Sacramento State Baseball team got a nice facelift to its clubhouse this week with new vinyl murals featuring shots of the team’s 2014 WAC Championship victory and first Div. I trip to the NCAA Tournament. The sports graphics manufacturer Fathead created the graphics to deck out the clubhouse and put new signage in the dugouts.

The Sacramento State men’s basketball program was selected to finish fourth out of 12 teams in the Big Sky Conference preseason coaches and media polls.

WOMEN’S SOCCER HOSTS IDAHO FRIDAY IN HOME FINALE
With shutout wins in three of its last four games the Sacramento State women’s soccer team (8-9-0, 3-5-0 Big Sky) will continue its push for a Big Sky Tournament berth on Friday hosting Big Sky newcomer Idaho (4-11-2, 4-2-2 Big Sky) at 4 p.m. at Hornet Field.

YOUNGSTERS LEAD WOMEN'S GOLF AT HAWAII
Sophomore Chloe Bartek and freshmen Katie Dunaway and Astha Madan each totaled 155 during the first two rounds of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational on Wednesday at Leilehua Golf Club. The underclassmen have the Hornets’ women golf team in 12th place heading into the final round.

MEZ SCORES AGAIN BUT MEN’S SOCCER DEFEATED BY UC SANTA BARBARA
Sacramento State senior forward Chimdum Mez scored his seventh goal of the season but UC Santa Barbara built a 4-0 lead through the first 50 minutes of the game and finished with a 4-1 victory on Wednesday night.

In the preseason Big Sky women’s basketball polls announced by the conference on Wednesday the media picked Sacramento State to finish eighth while the league’s coaches picked the Hornets ninth.

Behind even par rounds from Taylor Knoll, Luke Kristo and Robert Parden, the Sacramento State men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Bill Cullum Invitational on Tuesday at Wood Ranch Golf Club.

BERLIOUX EARNS SECOND BIG SKY ATHLETE OF THE WEEK AWARD
Sacramento State junior Chloe Berlioux was selected as the Big Sky Conference Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the second for Berlioux this season.

After consecutive shutouts in a pair of Hornet road wins over the weekend Sacramento State senior goalkeeper Kimberly Mata has been named the Big Sky Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

MEN’S TENNIS WRAPS UP PLAY AT THE ITA NORTHWEST REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sacramento State senior Tom Miller and junior Sean Kolar both reached the Round of 64 in singles play, and a pair of Hornet doubles squads advanced to the Round of 16 to highlight the Hornets’ appearance at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships.

With just three minutes and one second left in regulation time Hornet sophomore Adaurie Dayak put in a goal off a free kick from freshman Chelsea Arnold to break a scoreless tie and give Sacramento State a 1-0 win over Northern Colorado.

FOOTBALL SEES CAL POLY PULL AWAY IN SECOND HALF
Quarterback Garrett Safron and receiver DeAndre Carter each cemented their names into the Sacramento State record book on Saturday night, but it was Cal Poly who earned a 56-27 victory in front of a season-high home crowd of 10,934 at Hornet Stadium.
