Sacramento State senior Riley Hayfield shot an even-par 72 and is tied for the individual lead following the first round of the Big Sky Men’s Golf Championship on Monday at Greenhorn Creek Resort.

BASEBALL PLAYS AT NO. 15 IOWA, NOTRE DAME IN MIDWEEK CONTESTS
Playing eight games in 10 days out east, Sacramento State (22-21) has a pair of exciting midweek contest against two strong teams from power conferences. The Hornets face No. 15 Iowa (30-11) of the Big Ten at 2:00 p.m. Pacific time on Tuesday and play Notre Dame (28-15) of the ACC at 3:05 p.m. Pacific Wednesday.

BASEBALL BEGINS NINE GAME ROAD TRIP FRIDAY AT NORTH DAKOTA
On Friday Sacramento State (21-19, 8-7 WAC) opens a stretch of nine road games in 10 days to be played in four different Eastern states and two time zones. The Hornets open their trip with a three-game series at North Dakota (14-19, 8-7 WAC), playing Friday at 3 p.m. Pacific time, Saturday at noon, and Sunday at 10 a.m.
