Kriselle Pons joined Sacramento State Athletics as the program’s Assistant A.D. for External Marketing in the fall of 2019. With the Hornets, Pons is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing all external marketing initiatives for Sacramento State Athletics and its 21 NCAA Div. I teams. She handles traditional and digital marketing efforts while collaborating with ticketing, events, and in-game promotions to coordinate cohesive marketing strategies.
Pons is "Made at Sac State,” having graduated from the University in 2015 with a degree in Public Relations and Marketing.
Pons began her career spending four years with the Sacramento River Cats, a professional minor league baseball team. There she developed internal and external marketing, promotions and community relations campaigns utilizing all marketing channels. She was responsible for plans and programs that led to measurable growth in community impact, fan attendance and engagement, and ticket sales. In addition, Pons created marketing strategies and managed the overall production and execution of in-stadium community events.
Following her time with the River Cats, Pons did a brief stint with Ellie Mae, a leading cloud-based platform provider for the mortgage finance industry. She was responsible for developing integrated marketing campaigns and go-to market strategies for multi-channel execution. She assisted in demand generation strategy through optimizing nurture campaigns and developing account-based marketing efforts.
By joining the Hornets, Pons finds herself back in a sports marketing environment, a field where her passions and talents have led to success in previous positions.
Pons was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and thrilled to return to her alma mater.
