WOMEN'S SOCCER'S KAYLYN EVANS RECIPIENT OF THE FEMALE HORNET AWARD

Soccer's Kaylyn Evans is the winner of this year's Female Hornet Award. Nominated by coaches, the honor is awarded to one male and female student-athlete that best exemplifies the spirit of a Hornet with their sportsmanship, community service and special intangibles that make them a great teammate.

Kaylyn Evans, Junior Goalkeeper
• Team captain and Big Sky Conference all-academic selection
• Started 14 games in goal for the Hornets and recorded two shutouts
• Joined the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as a freshman and became a member of the Executive Board this year
• Member of Love Your Melon, a group on campus dedicated to helping those struggling with cancer
• Has totaled over 125 hours of community service the last two years, spending time with Howe Avenue Elementary School, Team Giving, Street Soccer Research Project, and more
• A member of the Sutter Health Volunteer program, working in the Pediatrics Department
• Member of Psi Chi, Sacramento State's Psychology Honors program
• Works every summer with the Hornet Soccer camps
• Represented the Big Sky Conference at the NCAA Leadership Development Forum at the NCAA Headquarters
• Attended the Big Sky SAAC meetings in Idaho and Montana
