WOMEN’S SOCCER IS WINNER OF THE HORNETS CARE AWARD

The women's soccer team is the winner of this year's Hornets Care Award. The honor is given to the team with the most community service hours for the academic year, and is based on total number of volunteer hours divided by the number of student-athletes on the team. The women's soccer team volunteered 250 hours in the Sacramento community, or 10.0 hours per student-athlete on the roster.

HONORABLE MENTION

Track & Field - 678 hours (8.7 per student-athlete)
Gymnastics - 146 hours (8.6 per student-athlete)
Rowing - 242 hours (5.4 per student-athlete)
Men's Soccer - 122 hours (4.1 per student-athlete)

* In all, Sacramento State student-athletes accounted for 1,557 hours of volunteer time. Some of the organizations Hornet student-athletes volunteered were Loaves & Fishes, Shriners Hospital for Children, UC Davis Children's Hospital, local elementary schools, Project Linus, Best Buddies, Sacramento State Residence Halls move-in day, and much more.
