SACRAMENTO -- Ann Frago, who has over 20 years of experience managing finance staff and process development, has been named the Associate Athletics Director for Business at Sacramento State.
Frago spent the previous two years at UC Davis as a senior financial and administrative analyst, and, prior to her work with Aggies, spent 24 years at Hewlett Packard.
Frago, who is a certified public accountant (CPA), has successfully managed financial processes, created budgets, developed employees and managed business development throughout her career.
At UC Davis, she oversaw budget development and fiscal management for the Financial Operations & Administration division, as well as Global Affairs.
Frago was at Hewlett Packard from 1993-2017, and spent her final two years as the financial program manager where she led a team of 18 professionals. Prior to that, she held positions of project manager, cost accounting manager and business planning manager for Hewlett Packard from 1993-2015.
"We are excited that Ann has joined the team, and she is a leading expert in the financial services field," Sacramento State Director of Athletics Mark Orr said. "Her expertise at UC Davis, plus her experience in the private sector brings a unique skill set to our athletics program and university. In addition, it's an added bonus that she was a student-athlete and her family has been around athletics for many years."
The holder of a bachelor's degree in accounting & finance from Saint Mary's, Frago was also a student-athlete for the Gaels where she played for the volleyball team from 1981-84.
Frago was born and raised in Sacramento, and has spent the last three years as the Director of Finance for the Sacramento United Soccer Club. She has two children that were collegiate student-athletes, including her daughter, Else, who played volleyball at Queens College in New York, and son, Tomas, who played soccer at Concordia University in Portland.
