2009-10 Causeway Cup

Sacramento State and UC Davis began competing for the Causeway Cup in 2004-05. The cup is awarded annually to the school which amasses the highest point total in regular-season meetings between the two schools.

The Causeway Cup is fought for in 18 common sports shared between the two schools with each sport assigned a point value. In sports where the teams play just once, (i.e. football), the winner of that game is awarded all the points. In sports where there are multiple meetings (i.e. baseball, softball), the points would be awarded based on each game. For example, if softball plays twice, each game is worth 2.5 points. If they play three times, each game would be worth 1.67. In this format, each game has an impact on the scoring system.

This year, there are nine women¹s sports worth a total of 55 points and seven men¹s sports worth 45 points. If the schools do not compete in one of the listed sports during the year, the point totals will differ.
